A summer staycation every child dreams about
After our amazing winter staycation with Horseshoe Resort we had to go back!
After a successful winter staycation with Horseshoe Resort we were excitedly looking forward to another reprieve from our demanding schedules!
Although winter at Horseshoe had so much to offer in terms of snow sports, we needed some fun in the sun.
And boy, did we get it!
I really saw my Son come out of his shell this staycation and try things he wouldn’t normally try with the opportunity to do so in a quiet and comfortable space. The staff at Horseshoe were so helpful and catering to my Little’s.
There were so many adventures to choose from but we opted for the Hot Spot package which included;
- Mini Putt
- Gem Mining (two kits per day)
- Indoor & Outdoor Pool Access
- Hiking the Copeland Forest
- Cross Country Biking Trails in Copeland Forest
- Corn Hole & Other Lawn Games
- Rock Climbing
- Basketball
- Beach Volleyball
- Scenic Chairlift Rides**
- Lake Horseshoe Access**
- Tube Rides**
It was perfect for family’s with children ages 2 to 12.
You really couldn’t go wrong having all of these amenities right at your finger tips! There’s nothing I love more than convenience when I travel with kids.
The resort not only has a wide variety of family friendly activities just steps from your room but it also has two delicious restaurants; Crazy Horse Bar & Grill and Eleven 01 Stone Oven Pizza, a buffet breakfast, a patio and Shoe Brew for your daily caffeine fix.
If that’s not convenient then I don’t know what is.
Let’s not forget us adults!
Not that I ever get any time away from the kids but if you do you would be happy to know the resort has it’s own Spa, Amba Spa.
Or, if you’re looking to get away and relax you can visit Vettä Nordic Spa just up the road.
While you’re visit Horseshoe Resort be sure to check out the selection of activities outside of your Hot Spot package.
A popular activity in the summer at Horseshoe is, biking! With many trails to choose from. They even have lessons for children 6 and up.
You can also book a tee time and enjoy 18 holes across the resort.
Have you ever tried Tree Top Trekking? It’s one of our family’s favourite outdoor activities. Lucky for you, it’s located here at Horseshoe! Enjoy a climb through the trees.
Children must be over 5 years old and at least 45″ tall to adventure on the Discovery Course.
The beautiful thing about Horseshoe Resort is the abundance of nature. Take a hike through the Copeland forest on one of the many trials for all ages.
My Husband and son really wanted to try out the Yahama Adventure but there was so much to do we couldn’t fit it in. Schedule an ATV or UTV ride.
The fun never ends
There are also fun activities like beach volleyball, basketball, and indoor and outdoor pool, sauna and gym.
What more could you ask for?
Maybe the opportunity to visit all the fun with a day pass? Absolutely!
Check out the resort map here.
We opted to stay at the Slopeside Condos for the second time! The condo’s feature a kitchen, dining room/living room with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a third area with pullout couch and tv. They also have balcony’s with a great view of the Slopeside.
All the options for accommodations are walking distance to the activities!
Overall, we had a great summer staycation with Horseshoe Resort and can’t wait to see what’s in store for Fall here.
