Kelso Summit
Kelso Summit @conservationhalton in Milton is a beautiful hike through the trees with some very excellent view points along the way!
I made my hiking reservation online and parked in Kelso Summit’s parking lot which is located on top of the escarpment by the trail head.
I was told to ‘stay right’ to get to the escarpment view points so I did. It was fairly easy to manage.
I only encountered one mountain biker on my hike. This is a popular destination for mountain biking but they have their own set of trails that they seem to stick to. The trails are very well marked.
Once I saw the amazing views at Kelso I took a shortcut and headed back through Lora’s Run which eventually joined the gravel path I started on and back to my car.
It was about 6km’s.
On my walk I had views of the Quarry and the newest conservation area known currently as, Area 8.
When I got to the end of my hike I was greeted with beautiful views of Kelso Conservation Area and beyond.
I can’t wait to explore the area again in the fall.
