Merritt Island Park

Merritt Island Park in Welland was recommend to us a while ago and I’m glad we finally checked it out!

This stretch of ‘island’ is located just west of St. Catharine’s in Welland along the Welland Canal and Welland River.

You can drive right onto the island and park in the parking lot between the washrooms and the playground.

The island has two playgrounds for both younger and older children.

There is a 6km out and back paved pathway which is accessible to all users.

The island is a short walk to downtown Welland that is filled with cute shops along the canal.

We had the pleasure of stopping by @blacksheepniagara and had some delicious food and a coffee!
