Mono Cliffs Conservation Area
Mono cliffs Provincial Park @ontarioparks in Shelburne is a hot spot for their walk through the cave.
So I had to get out and see what all the fuss was about.
I took the baby in the carrier. Then I drove for over an hour from Halton. This journey was made during the week around 10am.
It was just over 2km’s to the lookout and the infamous cave walk.
The walk to the hot spots was nothing special. It’s a big incline one way. If you go the other way, it’s up a few sets of stairs or you take a smaller incline.
We took the blue to the green. Then we went from the blue to the yellow star. After that, we headed back down the all blue.
Next time I go I would just stay right and take the blue then turn around and retrace my steps. It’s about a km less and less of an incline.
The trail was pretty icy in some spots.
The actual walk through the ‘cave’ is neat but very short and not much to it. You walk one way then need to turn around and walk back up the stairs.
If you are looking for something similar, I recommend Limehouse Conservation Area @cvc_ca in Limehouse. In my opinion, it’s a nicer walk. It’s much closer to Halton and parking is free.
Mono Cliff’s requires paid parking. On busy days, such as weekends and holidays, I suggest paying ahead to ensure a spot.
Bathrooms on site.
